Dr. Fardad Mobed, DMD Endodontist in Revere, MA
Dr. Fardad Mobed is an endodontic specialist at Northgate Dental Center with a career built at the intersection of advanced clinical practice and academic excellence. His focus is on diagnosing and treating diseases of the dental pulp and root canal system, with a philosophy centered on relieving pain, restoring comfort, and helping patients save their natural teeth whenever clinically appropriate.
Patients visit Dr. Mobed for a wide range of endodontic concerns, including root canal treatment, endodontic retreatment, dental infections, trauma related tooth injuries, and evaluation of persistent pain or sensitivity. His approach combines thorough diagnosis with clear, honest communication so every patient understands their condition and treatment options before care begins.

About Dr. Fardad Mobed
Dr. Mobed provides specialized endodontic care for patients who may be experiencing tooth pain, swelling, lingering sensitivity, discomfort when biting, or concerns about a previously treated tooth. As an endodontist, he focuses on the inner structures of the tooth, including the pulp, root canals, and tissues around the tooth root.
His goal is to help patients feel informed and supported throughout the process. Because every case is different, Dr. Mobed evaluates each tooth carefully before recommending treatment. When a tooth can be preserved, endodontic care may help restore comfort and maintain natural function.
Education & Advanced Training
Dr. Mobed earned his dental degree from Boston University and later returned to Boston University to complete his specialty training in endodontics. His advanced training focused on diagnosing and treating diseases of the dental pulp and root canal system, including both non-surgical and surgical endodontic procedures.
He is among the pioneer graduates trained in microscopic endodontics. This training uses high-powered magnification to support detailed visualization during root canal treatment, endodontic retreatment, and surgical procedures such as apicoectomy, also known as root-end surgery.
Teaching & Clinical Background
Before completing his endodontic specialty training, Dr. Mobed spent several years combining private practice with academic teaching. He served as a Clinical Instructor in the Restorative Department at Tufts School of Dental Medicine, where he was recognized with the Educator of the Year award.
This background in restorative dentistry and endodontics helps Dr. Mobed evaluate both the inside of the tooth and how the tooth may need to be protected after treatment. In many cases, a tooth that receives root canal treatment may need a permanent restoration, such as a crown, to support long term function.

Endodontic Services
Dr. Mobed treats a full range of endodontic concerns at Northgate Dental Center. Treatment recommendations are based on symptoms, dental imaging, clinical findings, and the long term condition of the tooth.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment may be recommended when the pulp inside a tooth becomes inflamed or infected. The procedure removes the affected tissue, cleans and disinfects the canals, and seals the tooth to help reduce the risk of reinfection.
Endodontic Retreatment
Endodontic retreatment may be needed when a tooth that previously had root canal therapy develops new symptoms or does not heal as expected. Dr. Mobed evaluates the tooth carefully to determine whether retreatment may help preserve it.
Apicoectomy
An apicoectomy, or root-end surgery, may be considered when infection or inflammation remains near the tip of the tooth root after prior treatment. This surgical endodontic procedure focuses on the root end while attempting to save the natural tooth.
Trauma Related Dental Care
Dental infections and traumatic injuries can affect the pulp even when the outside of the tooth appears normal. Dr. Mobed evaluates injured or infected teeth and recommends appropriate care based on the diagnosis.
Microscope Assisted Root Canals
Microscope assisted endodontics uses high-powered magnification to help identify small details inside the tooth. This can be especially helpful in complex cases, including retreatment, narrow canals, calcified canals, and surgical endodontic procedures.
Patient Care Philosophy
Dr. Mobed’s approach is centered on accurate diagnosis, patient comfort, and tooth preservation. He takes time to explain the cause of symptoms, the available treatment options, and what patients can expect before, during, and after care.
He also believes in honest recommendations. Not every tooth can be saved, especially in cases involving severe fractures, extensive decay, or advanced periodontal disease. When extraction or another treatment option is more appropriate, Dr. Mobed will explain the reason clearly so patients can make informed decisions about their oral health.
Honest disclosure: Not every tooth can be saved. In some cases (severe fractures, extensive decay, or periodontal disease), extraction may be the best option. Dr. Mobed will always give you a clear, honest recommendation.
